Pronounced ‘lee-ra’, not ‘li-ra,’ like many of us have mistakenly done in the past. This particular piece of equipment consists of a hoop dangling a meter or so from the ground. It may sound scary, but don't worry - there is a soft mat below that has caught many of us in the past. Lyra is not only a full body workout, but it’s also an art form. It takes grace, strength and flexibility (though you won’t need these skills to start with). When starting in our beginners lyra classes, you slowly develop these skills, especially in combination with any of our other classes. All body types and fitness levels welcome.
